Sakal Times

The actress, who was last seen in the Vivek Oberoi-starrer PM Narendra Modi, has been roped in to play the character of Tarini in Sony TV’s Chandragupta Maurya. The show took a 5 year leap and introduced new characters and grown-up Chandragupta Maurya essayed by Faisal Khan.

Barkha Bisht Sengupta’s character will be that of Dhananand (Sourabh Raaj Jain)’s long lost love interest.

“I am very excited to be a part of Chandragupta Maurya as it will be my first historical show. I know Siddharth Kumar Tewary for a very long time and he is doing some great work especially into historical and mythological space and I never got a chance to work with him. When I got this opportunity to play the role of Tarini, I was quite enthralled. The complexity of my character also attracted me, which is one of the main reasons I opted for it,” Barkha said in a statement.
